Scientists have developed a revolutionary technology that allows the human brain to communicate with a computer
Scientists have developed a way that allows the human brain to communicate with a computer using a wireless neural implant. This is another attempt to advance the development of brain-computer interfaces (BCI).
A research team from Pursue University, publishing a paper in the journal Nature Electronics, has developed a wireless communication technology for brain implants known as biphasic quasi-static brain communication. According to Nature, information is transmitted to a hub in the form of an earpiece, and the hub sends power and digital information to the implant using all-electronic signals to avoid data loss during transmission.
The New York Police Department has commissioned a K5 robot to patrol the subway
The New York Police Department (NYPD) will put into service the K5 police robot, created by the California company Knightscope.
The K5 weighs 190 kg and is equipped with four cameras that can record video without audio. The robot will patrol the station from midnight to 6 a.m. during its two-month trial period.
The K5 does not have the ability to respond to emergency situations at the station and cannot physically or verbally detain suspects.
The only help it can provide to people is to connect them by voice to a live person to report an incident or ask a question.
The National Bank issued commemorative coins “Ukrainian borscht”
The National Bank of Ukraine introduced commemorative coins “Ukrainian borscht” in denominations of 5 and 10 hryvnias. This was reported on the Facebook page of the NBU.
“Borscht is our marker of national identity. No wonder our enemy tried so hard to appropriate this dish. It didn’t work out. Last year, UNESCO added borscht to the list of objects of intangible cultural heritage. Therefore, we must cherish our borscht, protect and spread knowledge about it throughout the world,” the NBU said in a statement.
The circulation of coins is 2,500 copies for the denomination of 10 hryvnias and 75,000 for the denomination of 5 hryvnias, respectively.
Commemorative coins “Ukrainian borscht” will be available from October 4 in the NBU online store.

Zuckerberg introduced new smart glasses with support for live broadcasts
The new smart glasses are equipped with two more powerful 12 MP cameras, which allows you to take better photos and videos. The speakers are built into the frame and sound 50% louder than the previous model. Thanks to artificial intelligence (AI), the new camera is also able to recognize objects. For example, you can look at an architectural object with glasses and ask to tell what is in front of you. Or translate the sign if it is in a foreign language. However, the Meta AI feature will be available in beta and only in the US market.
Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses are equipped with five microphones for clear and high-quality voice capture during phone conversations. In addition, these microphones are able to record spatial sound, creating a surprisingly realistic effect of presence.
The smart glasses camera allows you to record videos with a resolution of 1080p, as well as live broadcasts on popular social platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. An LED indicator informs the environment about the recording, ensuring transparency of the process.
Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses are now available for pre-order in the US, with full sales beginning October 17. Their cost is $299. The price may vary depending on the choice of frame.
