The gas odorization complex is designed for dosed odorant feeding into the natural gas flow supplied to consumers with the view of imparting an odor for timely detection of leaks.

Regulation of the degree of gas odorization is performed by the automatic control system by changing the time interval between odorant doses feeding depending on the gas volume passing through the pipeline.

Dosing is performed using an electromagnetic valve. Dosing is controlled using an odorant flow transmitter. Also, an additional protective valve is provided.

Read-out of information on current gas flow from the flowmeter (of any type). Calculation of the dosing period (time interval between doses) based on the information on the current gas flow, the preset odorant consumption norms (g/1000 m3) and the odorant dose (g).

Delivery of a pulse to the protective valve with duration of 3 sec. (the odorant is fed through the filter and the protective valve to the automatic dosing line).

Delivery of a pulse to the dosing valve with duration of 1 sec. (a fixed dose of odorant is fed into the gas pipeline).

Receipt from the flow transmitter of acknowledgement of feeding of the odorant dose.

Recording and accumulation of data on odorant consumption in the internal archive in the nonvolatile memory.

  • Dosing control by the most recent gas flow values in case of cutoff of connection with the recording unit flowmeter or its failure.
  • Switching to a preset mean gas flow value (setting) upon expiry of the specified time period (semi-automatic mode).
  • Possibility of changing the dose, odorant consumption norms and other settings directly using the control unit keyboard.
  • Delivery to the Control unit panel and to external attention devices of the “Emergency” signal in case of failure of the dosing valve or the flow transmitter, power supply failure, fallout of connection with the flowmeter.
  • Visual control of the odorant level in the supply reservoir.
  • Visual control of dosing in automatic and manual modes.
  • Possibility of automatic switching to operation from a reserve 24 V power supply unit during 24 hours (option).
